SITEGreen’s Founder Earns SITES Credential in First Group of SITES APs

STEVE BENZ, FROM SITEGREEN SOLUTIONS, LLC AMONG FIRST TO EARN SITES PROFESSIONAL CREDENTIAL FROM GREEN BUSINESS CERTIFICATION INC.

Washington, DC– Steve Benz, PE, LEED Fellow, Hon ASLA from SITEGreen Solutions, LLC of Wrentham, MA is among the first group to earn the SITES Professional (SITES AP) credential through Green Building Certification Inc. (GBCI), placing him among an elite group of leading professionals who are dedicated to elevating the value of landscapes in the built environment.

The SITES AP establishes a common framework to define the profession of sustainable landscape design and development. It provides landscape professionals with the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge, expertise and commitment to the profession. SITES APs posses the knowledge and skills necessary to support the SITES certification process, including participating in the design and development process, support and encouraging integrated design, managing the application and certification process and providing advocacy and education for the adoption of SITES.

SITES Training for RI ASLA Chapter

Steve Benz of SITEGreen recently completed teaching a 9-hour training course in SITES–the pre-eminent rating system for sustainable site design planning, design, construction and operation. The session was hosted by the RI Chapter of ASLA and held over three sessions in February and March 2017.

Steve Benz recently participated in a Sustainable Design Assessment Team (SDAT) assignment for the American Institute of Architects. This was the fourth SDAT that Steve was asked to join in the past few years. SDATs are made up of experts invited by the AIA to help a community with a specific issue. This SDAT team was assembled to lay out a climate adaptation roadmap for the Town of Northampton, MA.
